Verification Email Not Arriving in Temp Mail: Fixes

A verification email not arriving in temp mail usually has a simple cause. Check these seven things in order, from the address to the expiry timer.

A verification email not arriving in temp mail almost always has one of a few simple causes, and you can check them in under two minutes. Work through the list below in order, because the first items are the most common and the quickest to fix.

Check these seven things in order

  1. The address. Read it again, including the part after the @ sign. One wrong character sends the message to nobody.
  2. The timer. An inbox lasts 20 minutes by default. If it expired, create a new address and start the sign-up again.
  3. The open page. Messages arrive live in the open FreeTemp tab. If you closed it or the connection dropped, reload the page and check whether the inbox is still the same.
  4. The website. Some sites block temporary addresses and never send anything. If the form accepts the address but nothing comes, try another one.
  5. The message size. FreeTemp rejects messages larger than 2 MB by default. A normal verification email is far smaller, so this matters only for unusual senders.
  6. Resend requests. Pressing resend many times can slow the site down. Wait a minute, then ask once.
  7. The 50-message view. Only the latest 50 messages are shown. In a very busy inbox an earlier message can scroll out.

Mistakes that make it worse

Using one address on many sites

Do not paste the address into many sites at once. Each sender may cause its own delay, and you will not know which message belongs to which site.

Pressing resend again and again

Every new request can cancel the earlier one or slow the site down. Ask once, then wait.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my verification email never show up?

The most common causes are a typo in the address, an expired inbox, a website that blocks temporary addresses, or a message larger than the limit.

Is there a size limit for incoming messages?

Yes. By default FreeTemp accepts messages up to 2 MB, and larger ones are rejected.

Should I keep pressing resend?

No. Wait a minute and resend once. Repeated requests can make a site slow down or refuse them.

Why can I only see some old messages?

The inbox shows the latest 50 messages. A very busy inbox pushes older ones out of view.
